The green cardamom is a plant species of the ginger family. Cardamom is one of the most expensive spices in the world, along with vanillin and saffron. In Asia, this product is used to season dishes such as curry. In Germany, on the other hand, cardamom is used during the Christmas season for gingerbread, speculoos or mulled wine.

Buxtrade GmbH, at that time still under the legal form "GbR", was founded in the summer of 2014 by two young men who wanted to build up a sideline alongside their day-to-day work.

In Buxtehude, just outside Hamburg, all products are carefully filled by hand into resealable stand-up pouches.
