Maca is a tuber from the highlands of South America. Maca is also known as the superfood of the South American Incas. There, the plant is cultivated in the high plateau (Lepedium peruvianum Chacon) of the Peruvian Andes, where the most resistant plants grow.

Buxtrade GmbH, at that time still under the legal form "GbR", was founded in the summer of 2014 by two young men who wanted to build up a sideline alongside their day-to-day work.
