L-carnitine is produced by the body itself from the amino acids lysine and methionine. Around 250 mg per kilogram of body weight of this amino acid is stored in the skeletal muscles, heart muscle and liver.

Buxtrade GmbH, at that time still under the legal form "GbR", was founded in the summer of 2014 by two young men who wanted to build up a sideline alongside their day-to-day work.
